A VISIT FROM GG AND BOPPY

Grams and Boppy came to stay with us when Fiona was two weeks old. It was wonderful to spend time with them and to have the privilege of observing them rock and sing to Fiona; Heather has memories of her grandparents singing the same songs to her when she was a child. In these photos Boppy is singing to baby Fiona. She was spellbound! She is also wearing a sweater Gramsie (G.G.) knit especially for her.

Boppy also wrote lyrics to a song for Fiona. It is sung to the tune of "Tu-Ra-Lu-Ra-Lu-Ra... the Irish Lullabye:

Her mother's name is Heather, and her father's name is John
And if she isn't hungry She may let you sing a song.
And if the song is pretty she may soon be fast asleep
Oh so soon she'll be walking, but at first she'll learn to creep.

Oh Fiona! Oh Fiona! What a witty child is she
And soon she will be talking, but not much before she's three.
And when she starts to talking oh what stories she will tell
And if you're feeling poorly what she says will make you well.

Oh Fiona! Oh Fiona! What a special child you are
And when you learn to smile your eyes will twinkle like a star!
