ONE OF THE WORLD'S GREAT LOVES
60 years ago today, G.G. and Boppy (then known as Norma and Bill) vowed to love, honor and cherish one another as long as they both shall live. They have definitely kept their promise! Congratulations on sharing your hearts with one another, and thank you for the incredible example you set for the rest of us. We love you!!

Dear Heather and Fiona,
Thank you so much for your message congratulating us for our 60 years together. It seems like yesterday that we started our life together. We were married on a cold evening, April 9 at 6:00 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenville, Pa. We had a simple wedding! Corinne was our Maid of Honor and Harry was our Best Man. Pastor Brath was the minister there that married us. We had a lovely reception at the home of my parents. Since we had no money and since Boppy was attending Thiel College, we drove the 50 miles to Oil City, Pa. where we spent the weekend at Baa and Daddy Bill's home (they were Boppy's grandparents!) They spent the weekend with Boppy's mom & Dad. Then back to Greenville where Boppy had a part in a play at Thiel College entitled "The Man Who Married The Dumb Wife". He was the husband in the play!!
In three years, Patty came along! She was our pride and joy and still is. How did we deserve such a special baby, child, and woman! Then Jeff entered our lives. Of course that presented it's own interesting life experences and still does. We are called mom and dad by 10 people around the world who shared part of their lives with us during an exchange student program. We have had wonderful experiences over the years; traveled to every state in USA, to Germany, Luxembourg, Finland, Sweden, and the Soviet Union. Camped with Patty and Jeff and all of our Grandchildren in differant parts of the country. In fact spending time with our grandchildren and now our great-grandchildren have been our most satisfying times in our 60 years. Thanks to all of you for sharing your lives with us. We look to the future to being a part of your lives!
Love,
Mom & Dad, Gramsie & Boppy, GG and Boppy
G.G. Thank you for sharing these stories with us. Boppy's play should have been called "The Brilliant Man who married the Stupendously Smart Woman."
What a lovely blog this one was with information about parents and grandparents. Now that we are a little more settled, I hope we will be frequent reads and responders to the Swellbaby blog. Should it morf to Swellgirl?
